Smokey came for the pound mid Oct 25. He entered the pound terribly matted and with a wound that could only be seen after clipping (see pic). He is scared of humans, avoids touch but is social with other dogs. Our vets think he has a cruciate ligament injury and recommended some cage rest. His walking ability has certainly improved but he is still reticent to be touched apart from a quick stroke in his back or head. He loves his dinner and certainly accepts treats and cheese, his favourite. He needs a very experienced handler to progress him to feel more comfortable with human handling and be able to get him used to a collar, lead and harness. He has a low shedding coat that needs clipping and weighs 7.6kg.
