Sadie

Sadie is a super sweet, well-mannered girl who came from the pound with a 8cm x 8cm mass on her bottom. We have taken the chance on her and did not want her to die in the pound. Lab results have said it may be of anal sac origin and is consistent with anal sac adenocarcinoma. Sadie has been to a specialist surgeon who suggested surgery was the best route for her. X rays had revealed that there were no visible metastases in her lungs and that her lymph nodes were normal in size. This is most unusual for such a cancer. He was able to remove the tumour in its entirety (pics attached - bigger than a cricket ball) and there was no invasion into any other organs. It has been a big surgery, but her recovery has been amazing and she has a hearty appetite.

She is such a lovely affectionate and well-mannered dog we are hoping this will give her a new lease of life. Once she has recovered, we still need to desex her and address some mammary nodules that she has. This has nothing to do with the tumour that has been removed. She walks well on loose lead and loves going for car rides. She has a short coat and weighs 17.5kg.
