Basil is a lovely friendly, affectionate boy who is able to be left home alone. Because he is strong on lead, he would probably best suit children over the age of 12. He has had some exposure to young teens at a family gathering and they spent time sitting with him and patting him. He did well in that group environment and was able to stay calm and comfortable around a large (15-20) group of people. He gets a walk of about 60 min each day. Sometimes he gets two walks a day but is quite happy with just one. He absolutely loves food and has learnt not to jump up to try to see the food we have. He is now starting to sit or lie down beside us when we eat. Basil loves spending time with family. He is a very loving, cuddly boy. He is a calm boy but does enjoy bouts of zoomies and playfulness where he can turn into an agility dog (lol !!!). He does like to play with a toy and run around when he's excited. He also likes going for drives. We are working on recall training which he is getting better at. He was very good in the vet environment when he was taken to get his vaccinations.
Out trainer says "Basil approaches kids in a friendly manner. He copes well with kid play and noise and stays very gentle with them. He did not jump up." He is best suited to children 8+yo. Basil is looking for an active family who will involve him in a lot of family activities. He is strong on lead. He has a smooth coat and came from the pound underweight at 22kg.
