Cindy is a sweet little dog who was left homeless due to a tragic road accident at Christmas. One of our foster carers has provided her with a home until she is adopted. Cindy gets on really well with her foster brothers and sisters. She rarely barks but will let you know if she’s at the back door and wants to come in. Domino has a sad story to tell – he was one of the dogs who was left homeless after their owner was killed in a car accident just before Christmas. Thanks to a kind foster carer, all were taken in until they can be rehomed, so we are looking for some very special homes for these dogs who were loved and adored. Domino is used to living with cats and other dogs, and we do not expect that he will be adopted due to his age, but we are hoping that some kind soul will offer him and Bonnie (see above) a permanent foster home for the rest of their days. The carer feels that at this stage of their lives it would be cruel and unfair to split these life-long friends. Losing their mum is enough to have to bear.

Domino’s owner hand reared him from 1 week old, so it has been very hard on this lovely older boy to lose his mother, but he has adjusted surprisingly well to his new foster home. Our vets have given him a glowing health report, and he only suffers from a bit of mild arthritis in his back legs, which doesn’t stop him enjoying life. When Gevieve arrived from the pound she was having so much difficulty breathing she was blue & every second breath was a moist cough. The vets took chest xray & found her lungs were so congested that they could not see her heart at all. She has spent several weeks at the vet and each day she has been improving. She was riddled with fleas. She has been de-flead, bathed, brushed & trimmed. Her appetite is now improving but is still very thin. Genevieve has just been discharged from the vet. Ginzie (now known as Gizzy), has come out of her shell and follows her foster carer all around the house (except when she feels she needs a sleep-in in the morning and stays in her little bed). She is a loving and happy little lady, who can’t wait for her daily wander around the block, she literally dances along beside you. Gizzy rarely speaks, just smiles and gives lots of side kisses (due to her having no teeth). Mintie was considered a candidate for euthanasia by one of our vets. She was so thin she hardly had the strength to stand up and her eyes were infected from all the bite wounds around her eyes. Nevertheless she seemed to have a good heart and a clean bill of health. She weighed 4kg. Her coat was so badly matted it had to be shaved off. We have been giving her a few small meals each day.
